Eco-Friendly and Sustainability
At Kingpins, sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's a core part of our ethos. We’re committed to getting greener every step of the way while continuing to deliver the quality products you deserve.
Did you know that about 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills? This makes it a significant contributor to environmental damage. Shockingly, one in every five items produced ends up in landfills without being worn even once.
By partnering with on-demand suppliers, we only produce items as they are ordered, effectively avoiding textile waste from overproduction.
Our printing partners use high-quality technology that minimizes waste, conserves water, and uses less energy compared to standard industry printers.
At Kingpins, we’re not just following trends; we’re setting them by leading the charge towards a more sustainable future in fashion. Join us as we continue to innovate and inspire change in the industry
Eco-Friendly Headband
The headband has risen and fallen in popularity since the 1920's, and has now evolved into a full-on fashion statement and is once again back in style!! Not only is the headband a statement piece, it also is made with a soft and stretchy fabric that is comfortable both for everyday wear and for workouts!! It is made with leftover materials from other products, so it is a great choice for eco-concious customers!!
Information on Production
Each product you see on our website is made on-demand-once you place an order, we produce it specifically for you. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and we are continuously working toward greener production.
Info about Printing Tech and Materials
This is information about direct-to-garment printing. Note: This method is typically used for products with high cotton fabric content, like t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, etc.
Our clothing designs are fulfilled using various methods. Many of our products are printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique, which is a printing method where ink is first sprayed directly onto the garment, and then it soaks into the fabric. It's like printing on paper, but on clothing. Our partner uses Kornit printers that generate almost a zero wastewater and use less energy than standard industry printers, which lowers our carbon footprint.
Ink Information
The inks our partners use for printing are Oeko-Tex Certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals, Kingpin's Street Style takes sustainability seriously, that's why we take care to properly dispose of any leftover ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.
Embroidery Info
At Kingpin Street Style, we embroider our products with Oeko-Tex Certified threads, meaning they are safe for both adult and children's clothing. Compared to printing, embroidery is generally more durable and produces less environmental waste.
Eco-Friendly Product Material
There are a lot of reasons why a product or material could be considered sustainable. Currently, at Kingpin's Street Style our eco-friendly product collection consists of items made of at least 70% organic or recycled materials, or a mix of these materials.
Each product you see on our website is made on demand, which means once you place the order, we start working to get it to you. It takes time for us to create and send out the product, but making each order on demand allows us to avoid overproduction. This way we get to take care of you and the planet we all share!!
Product Packaging
At Kingpin's Street Style all apparel products are packed in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. The amount of PCR in the packaging will differ depending on where your order gets printed, but it's at least 50% for the outside (white or grey) poly mailer bags and at least 30% for the inside (clear) bags used in multi-item shipments.
PCR packaging is made from everyday items, like used plastic bags and bottles. This material protects your order just as well as regular plastic bags, however, choosing PCR over first use plastics reduces the environmental impact plastic has on our planet.
For DTG Products, our partners use Kornit Water based and NeoPigment Inks that are Oeko-Tex Certified, which means they are safe to print on children's clothing and reduce environmental waste. These things provide a high washing colorfast AATCC rating of 4.
DTG Products
Sublimation Products
Our partners use Mimali Dye Sublimation Ink Sb411 and Sawgrass SubllJet HD Ink for sublimation products. Both of these inks are Oeko-Tex Certified. For some sublimation products, we also use MYSIBLI-E Sublimation Transfer Ink.
Posters
For posters, we use Sawgrass SubllJet HD Ink. For selected non-apparel products, stickers, and canvas, we use EPSON SC80610/80600 Ink.

What is Recycled Polyester?
Recycled Polyester (rPET for short) is a fabric that's produced from synthetic fibers. Recycled polyester is produced by recycling existing materials like plastic bottles and packaging but still has all the characteristics and performance as a regular polyester, making it a more sustainable fabric alternative.
How is Recycled Polyester made?
Recycled polyester is made by crushing plastic products into small pieces. These small pieces are then processed into a yarn, transformed into a fiber, and in the end made into a fabric.
What are the advantages of Recycled Polyester?
Producing rPET takes 33% to 53% less energy than creating polyester from scratch. Also, rPET produces approximately 54.6% fewer CO2 emissions to the air than virgin polyester.
By using recycled materials to make things like the Unisex Athletic Shorts at least some of the plastic waste produced doesn't end up in landfills.
